PRESIDENT DUTERTE: MAMASAPANO INCIDENT WAS DIRECTED BY SOMEONE WHO IS AFTER THE BOUNTY OF $5 MILLION
Last January 2015, 44 commandos of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) were killed in Mamasapano, Maguindanao during an anti-terrorist operation.
According to GMA News Online, during the visit of President Rodrigo in 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division in Zamboanga del Sur, Duterte said that the anti-terrorist operaton or Oplan Exodus was because for the bounty of Zulkifli Abdhir also known as Marwan.
Marwan is the head of Malaysian terrorist which had a bounty of $5-million.
President Duterte said the operation were directed by someone who is after the bounty.
"Katong sa Mamasapano, it was a question of greed [What happened in Mindanao, it was a question of greed].”
In front of the law enforcers, President Duterte promised that there will not be another Mamasapano incident during his term.
"These are the things na dili mahitabo sa akong panahon. Dili ko musugot anang tinorpe na desisyon. It's very stupid. Maasahan na nila iyan. Dili ko musugot ug in-ana [These are the things that will not happen during my time. I will not allow another clumsy decision. It's very stupid. You can count on me. I will not allow it to happen]." Duterte said.
