Israel To Philippines - We Are Willing To Help With The War On Illegal Drugs

Israel expressed their support on President Duterte's anti-drug campaign.

Israel Ambassador, Effie Ben Matityau, claimed that they are willing to work hand-in-hand with the Philippines and share their knowledge and experience in eradicating the drug trade in one's country.

Matityau said, The illegal drug trades are global. It is an industry that is present and being distributed worldwide. It is a constant struggle against its supply and infrastructure. We are willing to share information and best practices. We can all learn from one another.
Socially and economically, illegal drugs combine to make a disaster. It is a major destabilizer of society. It can destroy families, he added.

But Matityau mentioned that illegal drug trades vary in different countries and there is no concrete solution for the menace.

The nature of illegal drugs varies in every country. You cannot copy what is being done in another country but you can learn elements, methodology and techniques from them,; Matityau said.

He also said that the best resolution to problems on illegal drugs is education.

The youth are the most exposed in drugs in Israel, according to Matityau.

The young are very impressionable young people. It is not a major percentage but it can get serious from time-to-time, Matityau said.
