TRENDING: Mastermind Of Davao Blast Already Identified - PNP
The PNP chief denied the reports saying that a Maguindanao vice mayor, who is earlier arrested for illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms, is the mastermind of the bombing.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa confirmed that they already have an idea as to who is the mastermind of the bombing at the Davao Night Market along Roxas Avenue in Davao City on late night of Friday, September 2.
But despite of the intelligence reports, Dela Rosa refused to divulge the identity of the mastermind because they are on the process of case build-up against the suspect.
The PNP chief denied the connection of Talitay, Maguindanao Vice Mayor Adbuwahab Sabal to the blast and clarified Sabal’s arrest is in connection to illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms.
He further said that reports linking the official to the Davao bombing are only based on speculations. As of now, there are no concrete evidences that could point to Sabal’s link to the Davao blast.
“Hindi muna ako magsalita hanggang hindi pa namin ma-connect (For now i cannot speak on that until we can establish the connection). We have to connect all the dots to have an airtight case against the suspects. So hindi ko masabi na sila yung narco-politicians na tinutukoy natin who funded the bombing ( So I cannot say they they are the narco-politicians wh we are saying funded the bombing)”, said PNP chief Dela Rosa.
The PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG) has already filed drug trafficking charges against Sabal and three other suspects before the Department of Justice (DOJ).
According to the DOJ, complainst were filed against Sabal, Mohanna Sabal, Nasser Maulana and Norodin Abas.
Based on the letter request of the PNP, the investigators filed complaints of violating Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 1992 and Illegal Possession of Firearms and Explosives against the four respondents.
The DOJ clarified that it would be decided if a case would be filed against the suspects in the proper court by next week. [SOURCE]
