Pacquiao: Ang committee ay para sa taong bayan, hindi lang pangsarili

This was the statement of Senator Manny Pacquiao on Monday after he moved for De Lima's ouster as chair of the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights.
Sen. Pacquiao moved to declare the justice panel vacant days after a confessed former member of the Davao Death Squad testified before the committee that President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the summary execution of suspected criminals in Davao City when he was mayor. Before Pacquiao's motion, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano delivered his privilege speech, claiming De Lima is using the committee to go after Duterte.
During the privilege speech of Cayetano, De Lima walked out and afterwards said she would answer the allegations in her own speech on Tuesday.
In an interview on, De Lima accused Duterte of causing her ouster.
Pacquiao, who also hails from Mindanao, is a close ally of Duterte.
