16 Senators voted to oust the neophyte Senator Leila De Lima as the chairperson of Committee on Justice and Human Rights that leads the investigation of alleged extrajudicial killings happening in the country.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano delivered his privilege speech that blaming De Lima for misleading the international community in the real situation of the country. While Cayetano delivering his privilege speech, Senator Leila De Lima decided to leave the Senate Hall.
” I can’t stand it, so I’m gonna deliver also my own privilege speech tomorrow instead of confronting him[Sen. Alan]” Senator Leila De Lima told the reporter of News5.
When asked by the reporter about the allegations that she is destroying the reputation of the country, she answered “What is destroying the reputation of this country are the killings, it’s not me!”
