CONFIRMED: Regional Trial Court Judge Hector Salise involved in Illegal Drugs
The regional trial court judge from Agusan del Sur who survived an ambush last Sept. 23 is among the government officials included in the President Rodrigo Duterte’s latest list of government officials allegedly involved in illegal drugs.
Duterte on Friday (Sept. 30) named Judge Hector Salise as one of the personalities included in his so-called “narco-list.” Salise is the judge of the Regional Trial Court of Bayugan City, Branch 7.
He and his driver were nearly killed after unidentified assailants fired upon his vehicle in a sparsely populated area in Barangay Lemon, Butuan City.
Salise’s driver managed to escape the slay try by speeding to reach Butuan City. The Supreme Court has expressed outrage over the attempt on Salise’s life.
“The court condemns in the strongest terms attempts to subvert the rule of law through silencing of judges and calls on the authorities concerned to take all necessary steps with all deliberate speed to fully investigate this attempt on Judge Salise and to prevent any such recurrences,” the SC said in a statement.
