P1.8-M worth of shabu confescated in CDO buy-bust
CAGAYAN DE ORO - A woman was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Agora, Cagayan de Oro City Thursday evening.
The suspect was identified as Raihana Ali Baitara, a former municipal councilor of Pantar town in Lanao del Norte from 1998 to 2006.
Recovered from Baitara were several gadgets, the P100,00 marked money, receipts from money remittance centers and two packs of suspected shabu, which has an estimated street value of P1.8 million.
The police also confiscated several identification cards with different names.
The police also took into custody a minor who is believed to be Baitara's drug runner.
According to 14-year-old "Dodong," it was his third time to deliver drugs to Cagayan de Oro from Marawi City for Baitara.
The police are verifying if Baitara is in Marawi City's drugs watch list.
Baitara will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, while the minor will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
