Duterte beware for a 'killer' as PCSO chief
MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday revealed the reason why he has not yet appointed someone to head the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Speaking at an environment summit in Davao City, Duterte said he would like to appoint a ''killer'' in the agency because it has been corrupted too much.
''This PCSO, it is a corrupt agency. If you noticed, I've never appointed anybody there. I'm looking for a killer,'' he said. Duterte earlier said that the PCSO had become the milking cow of previous administrations, with illegal gambling being legitimized by the state-run charity agency.
Duterte wants PCSO earnings to be used for the benefit of the poor, amid complaints of slow processing of requests for aid. Meanwhile, Duterte reiterated his promise to commit all the earnings of state gaming firm Pagcor for medical services.
