Another Maguindanao mayor disagree alleged drug links
MANILA - Ampatuan town mayor Rasul Sangki on Wednesday denied any involvement in the illegal drug trade in Maguindanao province. Sangki appeared before Supt. Ronald De Leon, director of Police Regional Office- ARMM, and insisted there is no truth to claims that he is a narco-politician.
PCI Ronald De Leon, PRO- ARMM spokesperson, said police forces from Ampatuan and the provincial headquarters served as Sangki's convoy to and from his town and the PRO-ARMM's Camp GSKP in Parang, Maguindanao. Kirby Abdullah, ARMM Regional Secretary of Interior Government, earlier claimed some local officials in Maguindanao are involved in drug trafficking.
Abdullah, however, has yet to identify the allegedly corrupt officials. Mayor Montasir Sabal of Talitay, Maguindao has also denied that he is among these officials amid rumors that he evaded arrest with two targets of a recent drug raid in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
