Military and gov’t agencies take drug test for Duterte admin



President Rodrigo Duterte’s ongoing campaign against illegal drugs has pushed military reservists to adopt a drug test inside the Armed Forces from the Philippines’ (AFP) Reserve Command headquarters last Saturday, July 23. High-ranking officials from the Reserve Command, like Acting AFP Deputy Chief of Employees for Reservist and Retiree Affairs Colonel Noel S. Buan and Reserve Command Chief Brigadier General Leoncio A. Cirunay, Jr., join a minimum of 1,000 military reservists. Buan had also been awarded using the highest military honor - the Medal of Valor - for his achievement on combating the Abu Sayyaf in Lantawan, Basilan, in 2004.

In accordance with the AFP, the high-ranking officials stated the fact that drug test was supposed to ‘set an example’ with the reservists. It turned out that no one was constructive for illegal drugs amongst all those reservists who took examination.
