Bilibid chaplain says inmates accusing SAF men’s stated harassment
The New Bilibid Prison's (NBP) chaplain on Saturday mentioned he has been getting complaints from inmates of alleged harassment by Particular Action Force (SAF) members.
"Kagabi nga merong bumati ata na isang bilanggo sa SAF na 'Good evening, sir' binigwasan agad eh," NBP chaplain Monsignor Roberto Olaguer told radio dzBB inside an interview. Olaguer added that in one more complaint, a SAF member allegedly pulled an inmate's goatee. The priest stated which he started getting complaints on Thursday, the identical day how the NBP began prohibiting visitations at the prison compound.
"Although bina-validate ko ang mga report pero ganun ang mga sabi sa akin," he said. SAF spokesperson Inspector Jonalyn Malnat denied the complaints. "Wala pong katotohanan 'yan," he told reporters in the NBP.
The NBP was designed into a "complete lockdown" on Saturday as SAF guys carried out an additional "Oplan Galugad" at the Quadrant 4 of the maximum security compound. Sachets of shabu, a large number of cash and many prohibited products were seized throughout the raid, which final from eight a.m. to 4 p.m.
